VISA Information

Visas are required for tourists travelling to both Kenya and Tanzania on an Australian or Swedish passport. A single entry visa to Kenya is valid for a three month period and allows travel to Tanzania and Uganda and return without requiring a new visa. The cost for this visa is GBP35 or US$50. Visas may be obtained upon arrival in Kenya (cash only) or from a diplomatic mission overseas, however, these should be applied for well in advance. An airport departure tax is payable on departure from Kenya. Three month, single entry tourist visas are available for entry into Tanzania, with crossings to Kenya and Uganda permitted with this three month period, without requiring an additional visa. Visa prices are subject to nationality. A departure tax of US$30 (US$25 from Zanzibar) is payable for all international flights. This tax is usually included in the ticket price.
